Key Features and Benefits
Flexible project accounting
Sage 200 Project Accounting allows your project managers to optimise time and profitability by using a choice of project types - whether it's time and materials, fixed price or a combination of the two. No more multiple project tracking systems!
Project templates are provided, or you can use your own. Sage 200 Project Accounting allows for an unlimited number of sub-projects within each parent project. In addition, sales orders and quotations can be automatically converted into projects saving you even more time.
No matter how straightforward or complex your costing scenarios, Sage 200 Project Accounting handles them with ease. Sage 200 Project Accounting can be configured to suit the way you work. Just de-select, re-select, disable or enable elements as required for straightforward, error-free operation that is easy to master.
Sage 200 Project Accounting can also be configured to use the terminology that you and your teams use every day. Each item in your project can have its own budget, easily rolled up to form one project budget structure. With various user defined statuses for each project, Sage 200 Project Accounting lets you track the performance of each project at each stage of its lifecycle.
Simplified resource management
With Sage 200 Project Accounting, submitting, reviewing, tracking and approving timesheets and expense claims is easy and automatic helping you to control costs and adhere to your time management rules.
In addition, Sage 200 Project Accounting offers you a choice of how expenses are reimbursed. Integration with Sage 200 Payroll ensures that accurate employee data is maintained, so there is no need for duplicate information in your Project Accounting module.
With Sage 200 Project Accounting, staff information can also be entered directly - ideal for staff not listed on your standard payroll system.
Sage 200 Project Accounting lets you group employees into a resource hierarchy. Each employee or group can be allocated a variety of different charge out rates. Plus, because site-based staff can submit information remotely, Sage 200 Project Accounting eliminates the age old problem of waiting for time sheets to be submitted.
Accurate cost control and analysis
Sage 200 Project Accounting links seamlessly with all other modules in the Sage 200 Suite, with easy to view information generated against projects from within other Sage 200 modules for the ultimate in cost control.
With Sage 200 Project Accounting you can view the status of your projects, either grouped together or individual and define the information you wish to display to perform searches and drill-downs on your data.
Sage 200 Project Accounting also features powerful enquiry screens that let you drill down your data, to any level and examine vital data including progress made, costs incurred, revenue received, budget variances, profitability, etc.
When it comes to reporting, Sage 200 Project Accounting lets you design your own reports or use the defaults, then easily export to Excel for review and manipulation.
Flexible billing
Sage 200 Project Accounting takes into account the fact that no two projects are ever the same. Customers' needs vary and where some may prefer fixed pricing while others may prefer to be billed at appropriate milestones.
Sage 200 Project Accounting makes it easy to create billing templates and schedules that reflect these very different ways of working. The result is you can accurately bill customers at the appropriate milestones, either manually or by using the Sage 200 Project Accounting automatic bill production facility.
Flexible billing also helps you to control and monitor costs at every stage. Sage 200 Project Accounting produces a detail backing sheet that allows project managers to check and agree costs. As a result your invoices are more accurate with less chance of late payment or dispute.
Sage 200 Project Accounting v2009 enhancements:
Multi currency expenses- Enter expenses in currencies other than the base currency so that expenses can be accounted for in the currency they were incurred. This feature removes the need to convert back to the base currency prior to entry.
One-sided adjustments to projects- Save time and complex work arounds with one-sided adjustments. This means that you can make adjustment to a line item without it impacting on other projects.
Adjustments to posted time sheets- Improve accuracy by amending timesheets immediately with the production of negative timesheets to ensure that the number of hours charged to a job is correct.
Nominal receipts as revenue- Reduce the margin for error in and ensure accurate Product Accounting reports can be easily reconciled by choosing whether Nominal receipts are posted as revenue or negative costs.
Disable Payroll synchronisation option- Stay in control of when your Payroll Synchronisation is performed by enabling or disabling the ‘synchronise with payroll’ message.
Remove a sub-project from a project- You can now remove a sub-project from a project that has been included in error to significantly reduce the time taken to correct errors.
Copy billing templates- Save time spent creating a bill by copying an existing one and amending the details.
