Q. Are ACT! 9.0 and ACT! 2007 the same product?
A. Yes, the product name is ACT! by Sage 2007 (9.0). which replaces ACT! Professional (8.0). ACT! Premium for Workgroups replace ACT! Professional for Workgroups in two new formats, ACT! Premium for Workgroups ST and EX. Learn more about ACT! Premium for Workgroups.
Q. I have just purchased ACT! Professional. Can I get ACT! 2007 at no extra charge?
A. If you purchased ACT! Professional after the 1st of August 2006 from DMC Software Solutions, you will be upgraded to ACT! by Sage 2007, ACT! Premium for Workgroups and ACT! Premium for Web free of charge. This offer will end 31st October 2006. If you have purchased ACT! form any other ACT Business Partner we will require proof of purchase to upgrade your software.
Q. Howdoes ACT! By Sage 2007 and ACT! Premium for Workgroups differ?
A. ACT! is designed for individuals, sales professionals and sales teams of up to 10 users who share data. ACT! Premium for Workgroups is for sales teams, small business and corporate workgroups who require greater scalability and data sharing, more flexible deployment options, advanced workgroup functionality and additional administration and security features. Q. Do I have to buy each user a license of ACT! 9.0 even if they are sharing the same machine?
A. Yes, each named user in a database must have a unique ACT! 9.0 license number
Do you have hosted ACT! Premium For Web solution?
A. Yes DMC Software Solutions currently provide a hosted version of ACT!. host and maintain ACT! Premium for Web licenses on our equipment for our customers. In this "IT Maintenance" model ACT! licenses remain the property of the customer and are non-transferable to others, but those licenses are maintained by the third party on behalf of the customer. Q. Is ACT! 6 Still Available
A. Yes ACT! 6 is still available in single user licenses only. However in all honesty ACT! 6 is now rather dated and you would be better off considering ACT! by Sage 2007 with all the latest features. You can buy ACT! 6 from our online shop.
Compatibility with products
Q. Can you link Sage Line 50 accountancy software to ACT! Professional?
A.Yes there is a link for both ACT! by Sage 2007 and ACT! Premium For Workgroups which means that double entry is cut to a minimum. You can learn more about ACT! for line 50 link here. Please note that the ACT! Professional Link for Line 50 needs to be upgraded. This can be downloaded on our website.
Q. Will ACT! Premium for Web work with ACT! By Sage 2007?
A. No. ACT! Premium for Web works with ACT! Premium for Workgroups only. Further, ACT! Premium for Workgroups (EX Edition) is only compatible with ACT! Premium for Web (EX Edition), and ACT! Premium for Workgroups (ST Edition) is only compatible with ACT! Premium for Web (ST Edition).
Q.Will ACT! synchronize with my Palm OS or Pocket PC handheld device?
A. ACT! and ACT! Premium for Workgroups include ACT! Link for Palm OS and ACT! Link for Pocket PC. These products provide two-way synchronization between the product and your device.
Q. Will ACT! for Palm OS 2006 work with both ACT! 2006 and ACT! 2007?
A.Yes. There is an inline release of ACT! for Palm OS that is required to work with ACT! 2007.
Do the handheld links work with Web product?
A. Not at this time. Handheld links only work with the Windows version of ACT!
Will my existing add-on products work with ACT! 2007?
A. This depends on what version of ACT! you are currently using. ACT! 6.0 add-on products and links will have to be replaced with ACT! 2007 compatible versions. Most ACT! Professional add-on products should be compatible with ACT! 2007. Do you have a BlackBerry link?
A. Sage Software does not provide a BlackBerry link but instead works with a third party providers who does provide access to ACT! data from a BlackBerry. Learn more about ACT! add-ons
