Sage ACT! Software Installation
It is important that ACT! Software is installed to the correct specification on to a Local Area Network. Failure to do so, could create problems when rolling ACT! out to the end users. In order to get the best out of Sage ACT! it is recommended that DMC Software's ACT! Certified Consultants carry out the implementation to save time and money in the long term.
DMC work with a business's IT personnel to configure servers and workstations to the system requirements for ACT! Software. ACT! is installed on each workstation and the preferences set as per the ACT! consultancy briefing documents. This means that all users see the same ACT! interface, ACT! database together with MS Word documents and templates.
Once the server and client installation is complete the DMC ACT! Certified consultants import the data from the existing data source(s). The data may be in many formats including text delimited, CSV and DBF to name but a few. Most data imports into ACT! Software are simple to process, when performed correctly. However, importing data from other contact management systems can be a more difficult. This can be discussed in greater detail during the initial consultancy day.
Should a business have remote users, DMC Software set up the synchronisation and security rights for each individual user allowing them to have access to the records within the ACT! database which have been authorised.
Once the data has been imported into ACT! DMC carry out a thorough testing from all workstations and remedy any unforeseen problems. Synchronisation is also thoroughly tested to ensure that remote users have the correct number of contacts within their ACT! database.
Once the ACT! installation has been completed to a satisfactory level the ACT! installation sign off sheet is completed by both the client and DMC Software specialist..
