What’s new in Sage 50 Accounts 2009?

Sage 50 Accounts, previously known as Sage Line 50 Accounts, allows you to take care of your accounts, suppliers, customers and management reports in the same way as before. While Sage 50 Accounts functions in the same way as Sage Line 50 it also includes a range of new and improved features. The new features create an even better all round accountancy product and provide an even easier end user experience. So what exactly is new in Sage 50 Accounts 2009?

Built in diary

The built in diary helps prioritise every item of your daily workload. It sets reminders for recurring tasks and integrates with Microsoft Outlook to automate diary events, such as following up promised payments. You can also link tasks to contacts, so you have all the relevant details as you need them.

Dashboards

The improved dashboards provide an instant view of your company’s credit position. You can instantly see where your money is, how old customer or supplier debts are, what is due what is over due, what’s disputed, what’s been promised to pay and what’s been allocated- all in one place.

Proactively chasing debt made easy

The chase debt feature in Sage 50 Accounts allows you to work with the customers that owe money and provides all the information required for you to prioritise. They are also measures that you can take to prompt the payment of invoices before they are due to help you achieve maximum profit.

Automated diary updates

Always know who you should be spending time chasing for payments e.g. what’s overdue, when money’s due in and whose promised payment. Promised payments are automatically added to the diary, if they are not received you’ll be reminded to follow them up.

Plan ahead

You can now see who you need to pay based on supplier and age criteria. So that you can view payment commitments of coming weeks so you can plan ahead.

Record customer contact preferences

You can now record and store names, numbers, email addresses, office addresses, preferred contact times and mailing preferences for all you contacts all in one place. These details can be used in invoice, letter and statement runs so you know the message has got to the right person at the right time.

Build and record your communications

All customer contact can be recorded in the customer communication history, together with a follow up, so you always have the right information to refer back to. Whenever a letter or email or invoice is generated this is recorded in the history also.

Flexible payment methods

Suppliers like to be paid in different ways- you can now do a cheque run for those who like to be paid in this way or an e-payment for those who prefer BACS payments.

There is also now an easier way for your customers to pay- directly by card. This can be done on the phone or the web, then posted directly into your accounts to ensure everything is kept up to date

Batch reporting

Batch reporting allows you to create your own batches of reports and run them off all at once. You can also password protect any pdf files containing sensitive financial information

Improved Bank Reconciliation

Bank reconciliation is easier than ever before “smart totals” lets you see the value of any highlighted transaction. And, new retrospective bank reconciliation report allows you to see the reconciled balance of their account at any given time.

Automatic Updates

With automatic updates your software will perform at the highest possible standard at all times. Automatic Updates let you know if there is anything they need to make your software run more efficiently and quickly updates them.

Corrections are easier

Correcting mistakes has never been easier, you can now find view, correct or even delete transactions or postings at the touch of a button.
