A. There is no difference between any of these products at all. They all have the same functionality! ACT! 2005 is brand name for the USA and North America. ACT! 7 is the brand name for the Euro Pacific region,. ACT! Professional and ACT! Professional for Work groups is the brand name for Europe, Africa and the Middle East. However, software bought outside the European Union can not be registered and supported in the United Kingdom.

A. Yes ACT! Professional has been completely rewritten in the latest .Net technology using Structured Query language (SQL) unlike it's predecessor which was written in a flat semi relational database.

Q. Is Sychronisation Better and easier to use?
A. The change to SQL has given ACT! Professional the flexibility to upgrade Synchronisation. Synchronisation now has a Parent - Child relationship, where the children (remote databases) are created from a Parent database. All Synchronisation are initiate by the remote database and run in the background with no need for you to stop your work and wait for synchronisation to finish. The computer hosting the Parent database must be running but ACT! Professional does not need to be open for Synchronisation to occur (Workgroup version only). ACT! Professional can also now Synchronise across an Internet Connection (Workgroup version only)
