DMC Punches Hole Through Economic Low 
 

DMC Software Solutions is defying current small business trends and punching a hole through the current economic downturn with increased marketing and massive sales drive.

As featured in the Mail on Sunday Newspaper Mike Ramsay, Managing Director of DMC Software Solutions, states, “we are bucking the trend, we have increased our sales force and marketing budget and we want to punch a hole through the recession. There is no doubt that this is a difficult time for businesses, but there are clear opportunities to be taken.”

As other small businesses flail in the current economic climate, DMC is taking a more aggressive stance resulting in 18% increase in turnover and, in particular, a better previous quarter this year than last year. These results seem incomprehensible as the recession looms but as other companies diminish their marketing spend and sales drive, DMC have been fighting back and increasing business.

Shrewd business decisions and DMC’s lack of borrowed money means that, although difficult, the economy has not crippled or destroyed their moral or business thinking unlike other small businesses that have drowned in debt or made untimely critical business decisions. You would be mistaken for thinking that DMC was a larger business with the current success but this multi-million pound business is barely 7 years old and employs just 50 members of staff.

DMC’s radical and successful approach is mainly attributed to the early Nineties recession in which Mike’s cleaning company operated on borrowed money and expanded too quickly resulting in company closure. On this subject Mike states, “you always sail with the mariner who’s been on the reefs before for he know where they are,” he continues, “I have learnt many business lessons throughout the highs and lows in the economy and experience has taught me some vital business survival skills which has made DMC such a success today.”

DMC’s recent focus has been on product customisation, development and additional services such as IT support, TotalCare, and software hosting, Software as a Service. This approach has ensured that they can offer a fully bespoke service enabling customers to specify exact requirements and then to receive appropriate training, after sales support and additional services. 

This positive attitude and successful strategy has ensured that DMC have not only been regional finalists in the National Business Awards 2008 but, more recently, shortlisted for the prestigious industry category of CRM Reseller at the Software Satisfaction Awards 2008. This nomination further supports DMC’s superb customer service record as the Software Satisfaction Awards are based entirely on the views of genuine buyers and end users of business software, not a judging panel.
